shopping for pretend

Alright, I know I've been out of touch for a LONG time. Life just got crazy. I haven't even been selling jewelry. Shocking, I know. But I'm going to try super hard to get back into blogging. It's sad that you can get so busy that you have to remind yourself to stop and do things (like blogging) that you love. I have lots to share when I have more time, but for now, let's get back to the thing I love best: pretend shopping!

Shopping for Pretend

Maddy's Wish List

After discovering sadieolive's Etsy shop yesterday, I've been in a very vintage mood. Pretend shopping online always seems to soothe my not-so-skinny-right-now blues.

Lirola
Spring Dress With Secret Garden Belt Bundle Listing

This dusty rose handmade dress with its soft drapes makes me want to pull out my lace gloves for a vintage tea party. Maybe when I'm not pregnant, I'll be able to fit in this.

This dainty little necklace would nestle perfectly between the swooping collar of the dress.

Not that I wear a size 6 (more like a 9 and a half...on a good day), but I just LOVE these shoes! I've always been a fan of whichgoose's shop, and now that she's added some shoes just makes me want to follow up on her posts more.

DavieandChiyo
Pink Marshmallow

This gorgeous clutch is lined in silk and matches the dress perfectly! Not only that, but it's on sale!

shopping for pretend

If you haven't noticed, I'm loving these honey bee earrings right now, and I've started thinking about something new that can go with them. These springy flower clips from a brand new Etsy shop are just darling (and they happen to be on sale). And I dream of having a waist to fit this lovely powder blue dress. There's only a few weeks left until that possibility can come true. :) Of course, there will most likely be several more weeks (or months) before it can ACTUALLY happen. A girl can dream though, I suppose...

Anywho, back to what's important. Check out these artist's shops for other great finds:

1. Light Blue Pleated Collar Dress by Ananya for $60.00
2. Honey Bee Earrings by MaddyAnne for $14.00
3. Lemon Lily Flower Clips by ShadesOfHeaven for $14.00

So I'm two workouts closer to fitting into a dress this cute. It's one of the many items from Modcloth that I'm adding to my wishlist. Only I don't want to order until I certain I'm at my goal size. The necklace I can't seem to stop wearing. I love it so much that I've sought out a new outfit to go around it (I know, seems backwards). And the belt has been in my shopping cart for about two months. I can't seem to decide on the color yet.

1. afternoon company dress by Modcloth $52.99
2. tiny pink flower necklace by MaddyAnne $19.00
3. cream skinny belt by ByTheBelt $13.00

shopping for pretend, fires for real

Ahh, fall is in the air.  Psych!  Not in Texas, at least.  The temperature has dropped oh-so-slightly but it's still getting pretty hot during the daytime.  A girl can dream, though.  Maybe if I buy all of the pretty items, fall will make it's grand appearance.  Lord knows we need the cold!  This summer has been extremely hot and dry.  I don't think we've had any rain since spring other than a light drizzle back in June.

And now we've had these crazy fires!  If you can, there are websites to donate to the fire victims.  Check out this crazy video:

It's crazy to think that that's just a city over from us.  This fire in Bastrop, TX is by far the largest of them, but they've been popping up all over the place.  There's so much smoke settled in the city that I thought I was driving through fog yesterday morning.  It honestly looks like the smog you see in bigger cities.  Insane...

But onto happier things, I'm loving this outfit here.  The anthropologie sweater started the whole thing up.  And after seeing the pretty teal color, I realized it reminded me of this jar I thrifted a while back which now holds a lovely bouquet of bright orange fall leaves, hence the need for orange accessories.  Check out the items at their sources below.

1. Filled Echelons Peacoat by Anthropologie - $148
2. Moonstone Earrings by hildes - $28
3. New Shadyside Backpack by ErikaElynCreations - $115
4. Handmade Fringe Boots by letuspaint - $36

Just when you thought jeans couldn't get any skinnier. If you follow my blog, I'm sure by now you know that I window shop online a low. Yesterday, I found this ad on Gap. So apparently, skinny jeans just aren't tight enough for everyone. If you've been searching for that painted on look, Gap's got you covered with their new "The Legging Jean - Beyond Skinny." Also, be sure to check out New York and Company's new "Jegging."

Today's topic: pattern! I love the idea of mixing up different patterns to create a fun and unique outfit. And what's better than primary colors to top it off? This red, white, and blue top would be perfect for the Fourth of July, and I'm loving the tiny flower vintage flats. With this nautical tote, you're ready for your day out!

1. Plaid Tunic by SweetWear $19.90
2. Vintage Blue Floral Flats by MereTrifles $24.00
3. Sailor Tote Bag by bayanhippo $33.00

Today, I came across this gorgeous tone-on-tone tank on Anthropologie. It's a little out of my price range as far as tanks are concerned, but it's still something I'll add to my wish list. I found the turquoise jewelry to accent the outfit on "The Vault" on craftcult.

1. flourishing tank by Anthropologie $68.00
2. copper and turquoise earrings by BlueberryCream $12.00
3. chrysoprase and sterling ring by erinjanedesigns $88.00

shopping for pretend

When I was at the post this morning, the girl standing in front of me was wearing the cutest outfit. Do you ever see someone whose outfit you wished you had? Well, I thought I'd come home and try to find the pieces to pull it together. I did the best I could. The main differences are that her cardigan was mustard with tiny white flowers and her necklace was tiny heart charms spaced out over the whole chain. But I think this gives a good idea of the overall look.

1. no. 2 cardigan by VonlenskaVintage $37.00
2. a little love by onelifejewelry $25.00
3. lulu studded shoulder bag by ekaa $135.00
4. pilcro cohort corduroys by anthropologie $88.00

Such lovely finds today! It's hard to imagine having to wear a jacket when it's this time of year in Texas, but I couldn't resist posting this. The brown accessories compliment it well. Hope your summer isn't as hot as mine.

2. hippie boho earrings by dote $14.00
